Credit Cards with 0% Intro APR for your Big Purchases

May 20, 2024

Did you know there are some credit cards that offer 0% intro APR?!

Do you have some big purchases coming up? Or maybe PCS expenses where it can take forever to get reimbursed? We have put together a list of some of our favorite cards that offer 0% APR for the first 12-15 months.

The first cards we recommend are business cards because they do not count toward your 5/24. Not sure if you qualify for a business card? Read more here because we bet you do!

Business Cards:

Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card

We like this card for the 1.5% back on all purchases and no annual fee! While this card is marketed as a cash-back card, you will receive Ultimate Rewards Points that can be cashed out. But, if you also have the Chase Sapphire Preferred®, Chase Sapphire Reserve®, or the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, you can combine these points to your other account and now be able to transfer to Chase’s travel partners like Southwest, United, Hyatt, etc.

Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card

Like the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card, this is also a cash-back card. However, like the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card,  if you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred®, Chase Sapphire Reserve®, or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, you can transfer them to transfer partners as well.

We also like this card for it’s category spend. You can’t beat the 5% back per $1 spent on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable, and phone services each account anniversary year and 2% back per $1 spent on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at restaurants and gas stations each account anniversary year.

The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express

With this card, you’ll earn 2x back on all purchases for the first $50,000 in purchases.

Personal Cards:

We don’t usually recommend taking up a 5/24 with cards that earn such low sign up bonuses but if you are looking for a personal card that has 0% intro APR, here are three we recommend.

Chase Freedom Unlimited®

With this card, you usually earn 3x on dining, 3x on drugstores, 5x on travel purchased through Chase TravelSM and 1.5x on everything else.

Chase Freedom Flex®

Rotating categories each quarter offering 5x back (gas stations, Target, Lowe’s, Amazon, grocery stores to name a few of the past categories for 5x back)

(All information about Chase Freedom Flex ® has been collected independently by The Military Travelers. Chase Freedom Flex® is no longer available through The Military Travelers)

APR Details:

0% Intro APR on Purchases 15 months (20.49%–29.24% Variable)

Blue Cash Preferred® from American Express

This card offers loads of cash back perks like 6% cash back at U.S. Supermarkets on up to 6K per year, 6% on select U.S. select streaming subscriptions and 3% back at Gas Stations.

APR Details:

As a reminder, we do not recommend buying things you wouldn’t otherwise be purchasing with a new credit card just for a sign up bonus. These are just options if you already have a big ticket item in mind (vacation, household remodeling, car maintenance, PCS expenses, business expenses, etc.) and would like the option to pay it over 12-15 months.
